Fast forward a bit. This time it wasn't my finger, it was, believe it or not, a wire. The fins on the Blorb are barely attached to the actual motor (bad design, just like the soldered-on base) and spinning at 5000+ rpm it's not that hard to break one off. But come on, a wire?!? The sad thing is this: that same wire only got spliced a bit; it was still intact after the collision. As for the Blorb itself, the broken fin found its way beneath the motor cap (all taking place in a fraction of a second) and put an end to the fan. Permanently.
