"Having a 2GHz system will last you for a long time. No doubt about that. As provened in the SYSmark and Winstone 2001 benchmarks, a faster Pentium 4 processor does make a difference to your home and office productivity. For gamers, a 2GHz will probably be deemed as being overkill for now though. With the current 3D accelerator cards available, it doesn't matter if you own a 1.7GHz or a 2GHz processor, because ultimately the bottleneck will still lie in your graphics card."
