Athlon DDR platforms have proven to deliver high performance and provide even more power to the already powerful AMD Athlon through the use of AMD’s 760 chipset. The ASUS A7A266 however is based on ALi’s Socket A solution the MAGiK 1. ALi beat both VIA and SiS in the race to deliver the first DDR solution for the AMD platform other than AMD’s own solution, unfortunately beating VIA and SiS wasn’t going to be such an advantage for ALi as both SiS and VIA DDR solutions out performed the MAGiK 1.
