ATI's Radeon 7500 and 8500

You may notice that I left out the Dual Display Architecture and Video Immersion II. This is because the Dual Display Architecture is identical to the Radeon 7500. Video Immersion II is worth discussing briefly. It is mostly the same except it supports temporal filtering of video - making for smoother playback. Also included is support for HDTV and Component output. The 8500DV, the All-in-Wonder version of the 8500, will also feature a video breakout box with video inputs and outputs, and an IEEE1394 (Firewire) connector. First let's take a quick look at the graphics pipeline of the Radeon 8500:
