the major cause for pentium 4 not being so much popular in mid stream computers as pentium II or pentium III was ??. Yeah its just because of its bandwidth hungriness that Pentium 4 couldn`t be so much popular in the mid range systems and home PCs. And when we talk about Pentium 4 what first comes in our mind is RDRAM. Current platform such as Intel 850 chipset requires RAMBUS expensive and unpopular RDRAM. It help in diverting the mind of end user to think of other Intel line up processors like Celeron or Pentium II or rival processors like AMD Athlon, Duron or VIA C3. And as we all know "if the consumer mind is changed everything gets changed."
