"There is no question about it; the hard drive industry has seen a great deal of progress over the last several years in both the SCSI and IDE technologies. More recently, SCSI had to answer the call of ATA/100 IDE drives, and have done so with the release of Ultra 160 technology that raises the SCSI bus from 80MB (Megabytes) or throughput to 160MB. This is rather significant as it keeps SCSI technology in a commanding performance lead over IDE and helps ensure its place in both the enterprise market, and the power-user market."
