"The latest GeForce 2 PRO card I have (Leadtek WinFast GeForce 2 GTS PRO -
drivers based on v6.27) showed the same OC limitation. But only with the
Leadtek overclocking utility WinFox. If you use the Hardware overclocking
menu of the reference drivers based Leadtek drivers you suddenly can set
higher values without crashes. During my review of the Hercules PRO I used
the latest Hercules driver - v5.32 at this time. I made some new tests with
the Leadtek card and I now know that it depends on the driver version you
use.
I took NVIDIA reference drivers v6.31 and v5.30. The result: GF2 PRO
overclocking: v6.31: YES - v5.30: NO WAY!. So it really depends on the
driver version you use and the thoughts of a hardware OC limitation is
nonsense."
