"Many people have emailed me and said "AMD Said they would support the overclocker but the Athlon is Multiplier locked, whets with that??" Well that statement is not 100% true. Yes AMD is supporting the overcloker but, no its not actually Multiplier Locked. The Athlon and Athlon 2 in Slot A form have been soldered into a certain multiplier to prevent resellers from remarking the CPU but removing the speed symbol and just using a higher multiplier and saying to the poor unsuspecting masses that its OEM and has no labels and paying for a 500Mhz CPU themselves but selling the consumer a 600MHz. Athlon and Athlon 2 Slot A underneath the protective covering has a small bay nicknamed the "Goldfingers" As found by Tom from Toms Hardware the Goldfingers when set with a Gold Finger Device (GFD) these pins allow the user to change the CPU's Multiplier Frequency and CPU's Core Voltage..."
