The Duke of URL has just finished their take on
SuSE 6.4 PowerPC. This is SuSE's first attempt at a PPC distribution.:
"After about 3 hours I got it to partially run on my Beige Box
G3. It was nice except that I didn't have root access because after 10+
installs; I still got an error message about not being able to set the
root password. This was a major hang-up, and this was not the only
install error. During install I got about five more vague messages
during each install attempt. The thing I was surprised to see was full
support of my MacAlly USB card. Then again, it uses standard Apple
drivers, so maybe that isn't so amazing."
