"As we look at our computers, we can see the speed of the processor increase steadily with time (though it seems to be going at a much accelerated pace in recent years). We also see the size of the hard drive, the power of the video card, and practically every other aspect of the computer get faster, stronger, bigger, and so on. With all of these components becoming greater in their own respects, it becomes possible to create programs which are more intensive on all areas of the computer. "
