Xigmatek will shortly introduce a new heatpipe direct touch heatsink called
the Skeets S9686. Frostytech got a closed door look at a prototype of the new
Xigmatek heatsink at Computex last month, and what got us excited is the unique
stacking of heatpipes.

Standard heatsinks have one row of heatpipes running across the base plate,
either in direct contact with the processor or soldered to a heatspreader.
Xigmatek have chosen a new approach with the S9686...

The S9686 cooler has three double-decker pairs of heatpipes, one
6mm diameter heatpipe above an 8mm diameter heatpipe. The new technique
is intended to distribute heat to the aluminum fins more effectively.
Xigmatek's S9686 heatsink will be equipped with a 92mm fan that spins at
1200-2800rpm, and weigh in the region of 430grams. It stands 135mm tall and is
compatible with Intel socket 775, AMD socket AM2 processors.
