Rise above ambient scores reiterate the same positioning as we saw before. The A102 is set firmly in the value cooler department, despite its attempts to become an overclockers friend. Unfortunately this may largely be due to the poor thermal interface between the copper base and the aluminum fins.

Most of today's heatsinks which rely upon similar technology have long since moved to all copper fins, or and some method of solder joints. Thermal adhesive, while better than just plain air, is not substitute for a solid bond. In the end, the A102 is a good value cooler with a nice syringe of silver compound along side. Is it really worth using on a performance system? Not really, but it should be plenty fine for any average system running just over 1.0GHz.
