Dominator Heatsink From All Angles
The Fan:
If you thought the standard 25mm thick Delta fans were loud this 38mm thick variation will change your mind - it is even louder. Pushing out 43CFM at 7000RPM, this Delta fan is among the most powerful 60mm fans on the market. It also happens to draw 0.83Amps of electricity so be sure to check your motherboard manual before hooking it up to the fan header. The seven bladed motor pushes air through a set of focusing fins for more even distribution below.

Heatsink Top:
Microfins are formed from a solid block of material, and the Dominator has 50 sets of them. Each fin is on the order of 0.3mm thick and measures 31mm x 22mm. The clip sits in a trough in the base plate 6mm wide. You'll notice that the edges of the fins duck under the fan shroud and stick out about 4mm.

Side A:
The Delta fan is larger than the entire fin section of the Dominator amazingly. Each of the 40 or so fins is spaced about 1mm apart. The fins and the base plate are the same piece of aluminum, and have been formed by a skiving operation. The edges of individual fins are rough to the touch but this is standard. Clip on the Dominator can be used with just your fingers so it is quite easy to engage.

Side B:
The aluminum fan shroud is held in place by two sets of screws, and apart from helping to direct air down into the microfins, keeps the fan in place. The heatsink is pretty tall with the 38mm Delta fan sitting on top. At about 77mm high some users with power supplies mounted overtop of the processor may have a difficult time getting this heatsink to fit properly. In any case it is always best to measure clearances first.
Heatsink Base:
As you can see from the picture, the base is very nicely face milled. Although there are some marks from the bit on the surface, they are entirely superficial, and do not really affect the thermal interface too any large degree. It is always a good idea to use a high quality silver based thermal compound with your processor. The base is very smooth, and perfectly flat in case you are wondering still.
