A92 Heatsink From All Angles
The Fan:
The little sticker says "Designed by overclockers", and the pitch on those fan blades says "food processor". Given that the fan is listed at a 7000RPM I would have like to have seen a fan grill come standard with the A92. Those blades are sharp and could easily do damage to an errant finger. The fan connects to the motherboard fan header via a 3-pin connector which also supports RPM monitoring.

Heatsink Top:
The fan shroud supports the fan and appears to be designed to redirect part of the airflow back towards the center of the cooler. Whether or not it succeeds at this is difficult to tell, but it is worth taking note of. The 1050 aluminum alloy fins are ~0.5mm thick and are spaced 2.0mm apart. As you can see the clip passes through a 6mm notch in the base of each fin.

Side A:
From the side we can see exactly how Fortis construct the A92. The 5mm thick copper base supports two 1mm thick sections of copper which small rods pass through. Looking closely at the joint between the aluminum fins and copper base we can see some type of thermal adhesive is used to bind the two together.
Side B:
There are two rods which pass through each and every fin on the A92 (25 fins in total). The rods help keep the fins properly separated and provides some rigidity to the assembly. The clip can be used with fingers alone, or if a small screw driver is handy with a tool. The pivoting clip makes if very easy to mount this heatsink on a fragile Socket A processor, and then clip down - rather than tilting the entire heatsink into place.
Heatsink Base:
As far as copper bases go A92 comes pretty well. The surface is flat and finished very smoothly. The only issue we have with it is the thin transparent coating intended to reduce oxidation. A pure copper thermal interface, oxidation and all, would be preferred. The four circular imprints seem to be a side effect of the manufacturing process and don't effect the usefulness of the heatsink in any way.
