Well the Model-R does manage to retain its' third place position in this list of similarly made reference heatsinks. Unfortunately until we get a few 1U designated heatsinks into the lab to compare the Model-R against directly, these results will have to do.

For comparisons sake, the all aluminum AVC Skive heatsink is about 2-3 times the height of the Model-R, but still falls behind.

The Dynatron Model-R illustrates what may very well be one of the most efficient designs for 1U servers on the market, but since we have nothing to compare it against, to state that would be unsupported.

What we can say for certain is that the Model-R is an incredibly well made heatsink (removing for a moment the poorly though out clip and flimsy after market fan shroud) of one-piece construction. Dynatron have a very unique technology on their hands with great promise. Not to be too cliche, but as processors continue to increase in power, and heatsinks continue to work harder, only those solutions based on the most efficient designs will continue to be viable, and worth while.
