Information on Frostytech's test methodology is available here.

The 120mm PWM fan on the AVC Black Samurai heatsink spins at 800-2000RPM and draws power from a standard 4-pin PWM motherboard fan header. Impeller blades are protected from errant objects with a wire fan grille. The fan is backwards compatible with 3-pin connectors if need be. The aluminum fins measure 0.3mm thick and are spaced 2.0mm apart. With the fan removed you can see the evenly spaced heatpipes passing through the dark nickel plated cooling fins.

The AVC Black Samurai heatsink stands 150mm tall, though the bulk of the cooler is elevated 70mm above the CPU socket for clearance of adjacent capacitors, chipset heatsinks, etc. The copper heat pipes spread out from the base to the aluminum fins in a sort of flattened "V" pattern. The copper base plate is 4mm thick over the heatpipes, and 14mm thick in total. The two slits are for the K8 mounting clip to slide into.

The dark nickel plated copper base of the AVC Black Samurai heatsink measures 40x42mm in size. As you can see, three 6mm diameter heatpipes enter from either side to connect it with the stacked aluminum fin array that hovers above. Joints are soldered.
