FrostyTech.com Mk.II Synthetic Thermal Heatsink Test Results
Results based on readings from a 38x38mm copper interface die with 125W heat load on the Mk.II Test Platform. Thermal Test values for each heatsink were calculated by determining the rise over ambient temperature at time of test. Information on Frostytech's test methodology is available here.

*heatsinks are ranked according to the 125w thermal test results column (rise over ambient temp.). low temperatures with low noise levels are considered best. for reference heatsinks with variable-speed fans, only the high speed (12v) fan test result is included in the comparison sheet; more detailed results reside in each specific heatsink review.

with a 125w heat load applied by the frostytech synthetic thermal test platform, the Ajigo MF064-074 heatsink posts two very disparate results; each of which is entirely dependent upon fan speed which is a direct factor of internal case air temperatures. We've allowed the Ajigo MF064-074 heatsink to run at 3050RPM for these tests with a full heat load, so it manages a poor rise above ambient temperature of 39.1°C with about 45 dBA noise.

When installed into a Athlon64 computer, the Delta AFB0712HHB fan on the Ajigo MF064-074 heatsink will spin up to 6000RPM as the internal case temperatures rise. In this simulated portion of the test the heatsink provides markedly better temperature results culminating in a rise above ambient temperature of 28.8°C. Noise levels broach 60 dBA unfortunately.

With good case ventilation the Ajigo MF064-074 is quiet and temperature levels are high but not beyond an acceptable threshold. At full fan speed the MF064-074 cools very well but is unacceptably loud, and fan vibrations become distracting. Ultimately, the Ajigo MF064-074 heatsink fulfills the role of cooling an AMD Athlon64 processor satisfactorily, but given its materials of construction has to rely too significantly upon the speed of its fan. Replace this stock AMD heatsink with a more efficient & quieter model at the first chance you get.
