*heatsinks are ranked according to the 125w thermal test results column (rise over ambient temp.). low temperatures with low noise levels are considered best. for reference heatsinks with variable-speed fans, only the high speed (12v) fan test result is included in the comparison sheet; more detailed results reside in each specific heatsink review.

the design of this extruded aluminum heatsink is what causes it to perform poorly. even with a relatively capable 80mm fan spinning at 3800rpm, the ttc-k8atb/825/sc manages rather unsatisfactory results on the frostytech mk.ii synthetic thermal test platform. if this were a low noise or passive heatsink we could be a bit more understanding of the 38.7°c rise above ambient temperature result, but the ttc-k8atb/825/sc is an active cooler and certainly doesn't fall into those categories. For its 63.1 dBA noise level, we should be seeing temperatures which are at least 18°C lower. Add to that the terrible base flatness caused by the manufacturer over-buffing it, and we have a thermal solution which fails in virtually all respects.

As it stands, the only value the Titan TTC-K8ATB/825/SC holds is as scrap metal waiting to be recycled.
