The Evercool CUW8-715 is a moderate sized copper heatsink, and doesn't rank too well in the initial thermal results. Let's have a look at where temperatures stand in the final rise above ambient results table next.

Well.... it seems as though the Evercool CUW8-715 isn't much of a Pentium 4 heatsink, in spite of all that copper. With a relatively small copper base to absorb and spread all the heat from the P4 heatspreader through to the copper fins, something is definitely amiss.

The thermal results speak for themselves pretty clearly here. Compared to the stock Intel heatsink, both aluminum and copper-based coolers, the CUW8-715 doesn't have what it takes. As a socket A heatsink (CUF-715 ) the Evercool CUW8-715 was much better, and it is clear from these thermal test results that the design has been adapted to fulfill a role that it doesn't handle with much grace.
