Arkua 728M-7N01 Heatsink From All Angles
The Fan: The nine bladed impeller of this 70mm fan rotates at 3600RPM according to the manufacturer, and produces about 48 dBA noise. Given that this is a small heatsink which could be used easily in compact systems, I'm a little surprised that Arkua haven't included a wire fan grill with this cooler to protect it from stray wires. The fan connects to the motherboard via a standard three-pin motherboard fan header.

Heatsink Top:
The copper core is just 25mm in height, and above that rise two 23.5mm wide, and 16mm high sections of aluminum fin. The clip has been well thought out, and is equipped with a off-center fulcrum point so that pressure is applied directly over the center of the processor core. The plastic fan shroud that surrounds the upper layer holds the fan centered in place, and directs the airflow down amongst the fins. Furthermore, each of the aluminum fins is scalloped along its surface to ensure good turbulence, and improved heat transfer. Fins are spaced 2-2.5mm apart and are typically 1mm thick at the outer edges.

Side A:
The name of the manufacturer is on the fan shroud, and other than that there isn't too much to note here. The aluminum fins are spaced about 2.5mm apart and are slightly tapered at the tips.

Side B:
The little recess in the fan shroud makes getting at the clip fool proof, and in fact the clip design works very well. The clip requires the use of a flat head screw driver, but is pretty easy to engage, and holds the entire 728M-7N01 heatsink securely. The fan shroud extends down about 24mm, leaving 26mm worth of fin exposed for airflow to exhaust out from.

Heatsink Base:

Marvel in its glory for this is the Arkua 728M-7N01 heatsink! Seriously, the design is pretty cutting edge, being that the star pattern works efficiently to move heat away from the processor as downward air keeps everything nice and cool as well. The base is machined flat, but could have been a little smoother (some machining marks are easily visible). The copper core is 19mm in diameter and comes out of the box protected by a metallic thermal interface pad. This was removed for our tests.
