Acoustic Samples: Listen to this Heatsink!

The acoustic waveform you see here indicates that the fans are indeed pretty noisy. You can listen to this heatsink in operation for yourself by clicking on the headphones and playing the MP3 recording back to see what we mean.

Sound Level Measurements:

Listening to the actual noise a heatsink makes allows you to hear what pure numbers alone cannot get across. To further emphasize FrostyTech's reliance on cold hard facts when evaluating a heatsink, we also take Decibel readings with a sound level meter. These results may be higher than the manufacturer's listed specs, but then again these are real world measurements. Measurements are made in dB, in the A scale.

Measuring 64 dB in sound output is not the best thing for a heatsink, but it does generally indicate that performance will be good. Speaking of that, let's see how the Coolink U1P2 performed on the synthetic temperature test platform....
