Globalwin CAK4-86 From All Angles

The Fan:

This 80mm fan is what gives the Globalwin CAK4-86 its substantial bite, and loud call. In this performance configuration, this is not a quiet heatsink. The Delta fan draws 0.81A of current so it should not be connected up to a motherboard fan header as this may eventually kill the board. A fan grill is also a good idea if you plan on keeping your finger tips.

Top: The fan adaptor sits on top of the 60mm x 60mm skived copper heatsink. The heatsink uses one clip on the retention mechanism to hold it in place, in spite of the overall weight of the unit. The clip sits in a 6mm space between the copper fins.

Side A: The heatsinks' copper fins are protected by an aluminum shroud with the Globalwin logo stamped on it. The clip requires the use of a flat head screw driver to engage and in general is pretty simplistic. There are no notches to prevent the clip from sliding around on the heatsink which was a little disappointing to see.
Side B:
The skived copper fins are 0.3mm thick and spaced 1mm apart. Fins are 35mm in height and with the large Delta fan and fan adaptor the entire height of this cooler is nearly 100mm - so check your case to see if you have the room to even install it.

Heatsink Base:

The 6mm thick copper base is machined flat, and displays a fairly nice finish both in terms of smoothness, and flatness. The base is undercut 2mm for socket cam arm clearance. Because of the size of the heatsink, one side is notched out a few millimeters for the socket clip to clear.
