The 60mm Superred fan draws 0.28A and is a little higher than average in terms of noise production. The fan attaches to the shroud which also keeps it sitting just a little bit above the rest of the heatsink. A 3-pin fan header connects directly to the motherboard for power and RPM sensing.

Top: The fan shroud keeps the base of the fan 6mm above the top most sheet of punched aluminum fin. This space is important for airflow reasons, and also provides a platform for the fan to attach to. The copper core measures just over 22mm in diameter and features a 13mm hole at the top. The hole is about 12mm deep and is not an uncommon feature among heatsinks based on similar principals.

Heatsink Base:

The central copper core is off center so that it will sit squarely on the core of the AMD processor. The core itself measures ~24mm in diameter and is very smooth, and flat. The clipping system is attached directly to the copper section with little pins, so the fulcrum is a fixed point and there is no chance of sliding. The springs are used to hold the fan shroud in place on the rest of the heatsink.
