Acoustic Samples: Listen to this Heatsink!

The Tundra 2 has a nice little whine to it that will make it stand out in the case. The pitch is mid-level, and audible from a few feet away. Listen to this heatsink in operation for yourself by clicking on the headphones and playing the MP3 recording.

Sound Level Measurements:

Listening to the actual noise a heatsink makes allows you to hear what pure numbers alone cannot get across. To further emphasize FrostyTech's reliance on cold hard facts when evaluating a heatsink, we also take Decibel readings with a sound level meter. These results may be higher than the manufacturer's listed specs, but then again these are real world measurements.

As we mentioned, the AVC Tundra 2 has a bit of power to its fan, and it is for this reason that the Tundra 2 comes in at 58.4 dB in our measurements. For office environments this isn't a problem, but for 24/7 bedroom computers it may be too much to bear for some people.
