Well, thermal performance is pretty.... not so good. It is important to remember that we are testing this heatsink on a 100watt test system, and not on the 60W or 70W processor under load. Still, that being the case we are not exactly comfortable with any temperatures that look like they are going to be above 90 Celsius.

Before we make any final decisions let's have a look a the rise above ambient temperature results first.

With a rise above ambient temperature on the long side of 76 degrees Celsius I think there are a few things we can take to the bank about the Verax P11T. It is suitable for older processors under the 1GHz mark (Verax list 1.2Hz but I don't know if I agree with that totally), or for the new crop of VIA Eden or C3 chips.

In those cases, the fan offers a very viable solution where noise is just about non-existent. The Verax fan and heatsink are just about zero noise, but they aren't the best cooling combination we've seen by any degree. Use on a VIA Eden processor is a pretty interesting idea though.

The Eden can operate with just a passive heatsink but it does get a bit toasty after a while. The beauty of those systems is the very low noise factor, and it is here that I think the Verax P14, or even just the Verax fan would do really well to add a little extra cooling prowess.

By all accounts Verax have a very revolutionary design on their hands that does solve the low noise requirements of many consumers, but moving above that 50W test level brings the temperatures up to an area that is not comfortable for us, or most people.
