Performance seems to be better than the much flashier looking CB0309Z17 heatsink we reviewed recently so that is an interesting development. Still, there is a rather large grouping of Cho-Liang heatsinks in the area we would consider OEM, so that might be worth noting. Let's have a look at the rise above ambient temperatures to see just how this heatsink performs.

Even with a simple extruded design, the CB0307Z17 manages to outperform, by a few degrees the much more complex CB0309Z17 heatsink. The differences are pretty close, but it is an interesting one to note regardless. From what we are seeing of Cho-Liang's socket 478 heatsinks there isn't much to get a performance user excited.

The heatsinks are consistently coming in at the OEM level - good for mass produced systems because of cost considerations, but not an improvement over the standard Intel stock socket 478 heatsink. That is a hard title to eclipse, as even heatsink from Dynatron, AVC and Titan have come in under the reference line. In any case, the Cho-Liang CB0307Z17 offers moderate-to-average performance below that of the stock Intel heatsink.
