Zalman CNPS6500-Cu Heatsink From All Angles
The Fan:

There are 52 fins in total on the CNPS6500Cu model, and each fin is about 53x68x0.5mm in size. Altogether the heatsink weighs in at 910grams, making it one very heavy cooler. At the circumference of the fins, the tips are spaced roughly 2mm apart for good airflow.

Side A: To improve circulation, and increase surface area, Zalman have perforated the fins with five 3x41mm slots. A few creeses have been added to the copper fins to help make them a bit more rigid, and the tops have also been scalloped. The two bolts which hold the many pieces together are stainless steel, and the side aluminum flanges are used during mounting to the mainboard.
Side B:
From this side, you can really see how Zalman put the massive 6500-series together. The central copper section (26mm wide) means the heatspreader makes good contact with highly conductive copper, which disperse the heat to the surrounding environment.

Heatsink Base:

Zalman have always finished their heatsinks with very smooth flat bases. Since the fins are wider than previous Zalman heatsinks, we noticed that is important not to drop the heatsink upside down on a hard surface. Doing so may very slightly dislodge one or two of the fins so they stand up above the surface and affect proper mounting. Generally speaking, only a very small amount of good quality thermal compound should be applied. The entire base area measures 71x94mm
