Built with a body built
of nickel plated 6063-T5 extruded aluminum and a 2mm thick C1100 copper base the
Coolink U1L2 is an interesting take on an older heatsink design. In the days
of the slot cooler, twin fan heatsink were common, but these coolers have
all but been swept aside in the last few years since the adaptation (again) of the socket
formfactor.
Socket heatsink have a smaller area of space to work with, and so they
are generally a lot smaller then in the old slot coolers. In an effort
to improve the standard issue socket heatsink, Coolink have done something
a little different. On the Coolink U1L2 they have added an extension to their
heatsink which extends the overall length of the cooler to 120mm.
On top of this extended size heatsink are two 60mm fans that are relatively
noise free, though not by any means silent.
