Cho-Liang CB0307U17 Heatsink Review
There are
two heatsinks in this series, and since the only technical difference between
the two is a nickel vs. copper
plating we are going to be covering both heatsinks in this one review.
There is after all, no sense in saying the exact same thing about to virtually identical heatsinks is there?
Cho-Liang first came to our attention in the winter
of this year, and we have since had the opportunity to test out a few of their
models with fairly average results. They are by North American standards first
and foremost an OEM manufacturer.
The
CB0307U-17 and twin brother
CB0307U-1 are extruded heatsinks with standard sized 70mm fans and
rather dodgy clips... Nickel plating aluminum heatsinks seems to be making
the international rounds, and I'm honestly not sure what the big draw is. Copper plating on the
other hand, has obvious marketing points, but that is about it.

The
Cho-Liang heatsink has a rather neat set of fins that reminds us of Cisco's San
Francisco bridge-like logo. The fins also hint at a rise in the thickness of the base which may help with thermal transfer to the outer edges of the
heatsink.
